Funded hours for holidays

Could funded hours be allocated to booked holiday dates before any attended days?

We have parents who are complaining that they are charged for days their child is not attending when they use more than their funding allocation eg: a child is booked in for Tuesday to Friday using 22 funded hours but they are booked in for 24 hours every week; they have a Friday off, so all funding is applied to the Tuesday to Thursday hours first then the remaining 6 hours to the day off - so they receive the remaining four funded hours but are charged for 2.

I assume parents would not complain if they were charged for the days their child actually attends rather than allocating the charge to the holiday date.

We do explain about contracted hours etc etc but it falls on deaf ears and makes the parent unhappy - they don’t look at the FREE hours at all. Everyone expects something for nothing all the time. 🙄
